Lhotse Expedition – France, Jules

The Lhotse Expedition was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences I have ever had in the Himalayas. From the first days in Kathmandu, the team made us feel comfortable and well prepared for the journey ahead. Everything was explained clearly, and we had enough time to prepare our climbing equipment and discuss the Lhotse climbing plan with the expedition team.

The climb itself was demanding, especially as we moved higher into the mountain. At 8,516 meters, Lhotse is a serious high-altitude climb, and every stage required patience and careful preparation. The Sherpa guides were experienced in high-altitude climbing and stayed close to us during the difficult sections. Their knowledge of the mountain, weather, camps, and climbing conditions was extremely valuable throughout the expedition.

I also appreciated how the expedition logistics were handled. Accommodation, meals, transportation, climbing equipment, and camp arrangements were well organized. Whenever we had questions or needed assistance, the team was easy to communicate with. Having a reliable local team in Nepal made a big difference during such a long and demanding expedition.

Looking back, the Lhotse Expedition was much more than simply reaching a high summit. It was an experience of living in the Himalayas, working as a team, facing difficult conditions, and learning to respect the mountain. The beautiful views, the Sherpa culture, and the time spent on the Lhotse climbing route created memories that I will carry with me for many years. I am grateful to the entire team for their support and for making my Lhotse Expedition such a memorable Himalayan adventure.
