I’ve done the classic EBC trail three times, but the three‑passes route felt like a whole new world. The high‑altitude day at Kongma La (the highest of the three) tested my oxygen levels, but the view of Ama Dablam reflected in the glacier lake made every breath worth it.
Tip: Arrive a day early to acclimatise at Namche Bazaar—the altitude gain from 3,440 m to 5,500 m in three days is steep, even for seasoned trekkers.
