Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake Review by Aleksandre, Georgian
The Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake is unlike any trek I’ve experienced before. Having completed several trekking adventures in Nepal, I can honestly say this journey stands in a league of its own. It’s not just about reaching high altitudes, it’s about witnessing one of the most dramatic landscape transformations in the Himalayas. Every day on the Annapurna Circuit Trek brought something new, from lush green forests, cascading waterfalls, and charming mountain villages to barren valleys, towering snow-capped peaks, and the rugged beauty of the high Himalayas.
The highlight of the journey was undoubtedly the Tilicho Lake Trek. Standing beside the crystal-clear waters of Tilicho Lake, one of the world’s highest glacial lakes at an altitude of 4,919 meters, was a truly unforgettable experience. The lake, surrounded by massive Himalayan peaks and untouched wilderness, felt incredibly peaceful and almost unreal. The silence, the fresh mountain air, and the breathtaking scenery made it one of the most memorable moments of my trekking life.
Of course, the Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake is physically demanding. There were several days when the steep ascents, rocky trails, and thin mountain air really tested my endurance. Trekking at high altitude is never easy, and there were moments when I questioned whether I could keep going. However, the gradual acclimatization, the encouragement from fellow trekkers, and the outstanding support from our guide helped me push forward every step of the way.
Reaching Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), the highest point of the Annapurna Circuit Trek, was the ultimate reward. Standing on top of one of Nepal’s most famous mountain passes, surrounded by breathtaking Himalayan panoramas, filled me with an incredible sense of achievement. Every challenging climb, every early morning start, and every tiring day suddenly felt worthwhile.
What makes the Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake so special is that it offers far more than stunning mountain views. You experience diverse cultures, warm hospitality in traditional villages, ancient monasteries, beautiful rivers, suspension bridges, and constantly changing landscapes that make every day exciting. The trek challenges you physically while rewarding you mentally and emotionally.
If you’re looking for one of the best trekking experiences in Nepal, I highly recommend the Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake. It’s an adventure that pushes your limits, builds confidence, and leaves you with unforgettable memories. You don’t simply complete this trek—you return home stronger, more grateful, and forever inspired by the beauty of the Himalayas.
