Short Bhutan Tour Review By Molly and Mark Jenkins, UK
When we decided to visit Bhutan, we were looking for more than just a vacation; we were craving a spiritual reset. After researching various operators, we chose High Route Adventure, and it was the best decision we could have made.
From the moment we landed in Paro, the team’s hospitality set the tone for the entire trip. Our guide, Tashi, wasn’t just an encyclopedia of Buddhist history; he was a bridge between our Western mindset and the profound peace of Bhutanese culture.
The itinerary was perfectly paced. We spent our mornings in silent meditation at remote cliff-side monasteries and our afternoons engaging with the locals in the bustling markets of Thimphu. High Route Adventure managed all the logistics—the permits, the boutique hotels, and the internal transport—with such invisibility that we felt we were simply wandering through a fairytale.
The highlight was undoubtedly the hike to Tiger’s Nest. We were worried about the altitude, but our guide moved at our pace, sharing stories of Guru Rinpoche that made every step feel meaningful rather than strenuous.
Bhutan is a beautiful country, but it is the soul of the people at High Route Adventure that truly brought it to life. We left with our hearts full and our spirits renewed. We cannot thank them enough.
