Everest Three Passes Trek Reviews: Emily Carter – Seattle, USA

I signed up for the trek specifically for the photographic opportunities. The three passes give you three distinct lighting scenarios in a single trip.

• Renjo La greeted me with a low‑angle sunrise that turned the eastern peaks into a fiery silhouette.
• Kongma La offered a rare blue‑hour over the Khumbu Glacier—no one else was there, so I could set up a tripod and capture the glacier’s crevasses without a crowd.
• Seldor La gave a mid‑day, crystal‑clear view of Mt. Everest’s south‑west face, the “Death Zone” looming in the distance.

The trek’s logistical flow—poppy‑filled tea houses in Pheriche, a well‑stocked lodge in Dingboche—kept me fueled and my camera batteries warm. I’d recommend a portable solar charger; the nights at high altitude are cold, and you’ll want to keep your gear alive for those sudden light‑break moments.
