Participants can join and enjoy the Annapurna Luxury Trek throughout the year due to the well-established trekking infrastructure. However, for the most rewarding experience, we recommend you go during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons.
Why Spring(March to May)? Spring is the peak trekking season in Nepal, and for the Annapurna region treks. During this time, you can walk through forest trails filled with rhododendrons blooming in vibrant colors. The sky remains clear, and the weather is pleasant this time.
Why Autumn(September to November)? Autumn is another good time to go for the Annapurna Luxury trek due to stable weather and clear skies. You can enjoy the distant view of mountain peaks due to high visibility.
Trekking in winter (December to February) means you can expect cold temperatures and occasional snow. Still, it is also possible, as you will enjoy premium services in luxury lodges throughout the trek.
Monsoon (June to August) is the off-season for the Annapurna Luxury Trek due to heavy rainfall and the risk of floods and landslides on the trails.

This 9-Day Annapurna Luxury Trek is a moderately easy trek. This trek is best for first-time or beginner trekkers who are interested in exploring the Himalayas with comfort and premium services. Trekkers should be able to walk for 4–5 hours a day on only a few days, as most days involve shorter walking periods. You will walk along trails that include stairs, gentle uphill and downhill sections, and some narrow paths.
You don’t need to worry much about preparation for the Annapurna Luxury Trek. Just make sure to exercise regularly, maintain your fitness and health, and eat a healthy diet. Pack light, as most things will be provided in the hotel/mountain lodge. You can even buy all the necessary things easily here in Nepal. We suggest you purchase travel insurance as it will help you during an emergency situation, such as medical issues, accidents, or unexpected changes during the trek.
To trek inside the Annapurna region, all trekkers must obtain the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit. This ACAP permit costs around 3,000 per person. You need to show these permits at the checkpoint along the trekking route. This permit is issued by the Nepal government to conserve the natural beauty of the Annapurna region and to protect the endangered species of plants and animals living here. High Route Adventure will obtain this permit on behalf of our customer to make the journey hassle-free.
The air distance from Kathmandu (KTM) to Pokhara (PKR) is approximately 146 to 155 kilometers (about 90 to 96 miles). The flight duration will be around 25-30 minutes. The popular airlines that operate the Kathmandu to Pokhara flight are Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, and Shree Airlines. During the flight travellers are allowed to carry the luggage weight of 15-25 kg for checked baggage and 5 kg for hand carry.
To enter Nepal for the Annapurna Luxury Lodge trek, all foreign travellers need to obtain a Nepal tourist visa. You can get the visa in advance from your home country or as an on-arrival visa at Tribhuvan International Airport. Different international currencies are accepted for visa payment. The tourist visa costs vary according to the number of days you want to spend here in Nepal. For 15days: Cost USD 30, for 30 Days: Cost USD 50, and for 90 Days: Cost USD 125.
We suggest our customers purchase the travel and health insurance while travelling in Nepal for trekking. This helps cover emergencies, medical expenses, or unexpected changes during the trip. Highroute Adventure doesn't sell the insurance package so make sure to purchase from your home country.
After completing the Annapurna Luxury Trek, you may choose to tip your guide, porter, and support staff. It is not mandatory but a tradition as it will show love and appreciation toward their hard work.
In Kathmandu and Pokhara, you can easily find ATMs, banks, and even hotels, restaurants, or shops that accept credit cards and online payments. However, along the Annapurna region trekking trails, most places accept only Nepali rupees. Before heading for the trip we suggest you carry some local cash as it will be useful in buying snacks, souvenir items or things that are not included in the trekking package.
Nepal has a long history of cultural harmony, which is why you can find many different religions and cultures across the country. The biggest festivals in Nepal are Dashain and Tihar, which take place in October and November. During this time, you can expect a large number of locals traveling home to celebrate. So it will be difficult to get the Pokhara flight ticket and transportation. If your departure date falls during these festive periods, we strongly recommend booking the Annapurna Luxury Trek package in advance to secure your flights and accommodations.
If you have already visited the Annapurna region, we also have other luxury treks in Nepal:
