Ultra-Light Flight

Ultra-Light Flight is another leisure activity, the only place in Nepal is Pokhara, besides other daring sports. A great way to enjoy the views of the majestic Annapurna Himalayas with magnificent Machhapuchare Himal the famous Fish-Tail peak.

Flows downstream from high Annapurna Himalaya and Machhapuchare Himal, the Fish-Tail peak, rafting is done further beyond Pokhara valley.

Boating in Phewa Lake

While in Pokhara having the time of your life, how can you miss boating on calm Phewa / Fewa Lake? Hot Air Ballooning was started in Pokhara by Sunrise Ballooning in the mid-1990, and then it was closed. After running for a few years due to some landing problems on fields of crops, and compensating the farmers.  

After decades, has resumed the adventure float Hot Air Ballooning once again near Pokhara Valley. A great way to observe from bird eyes views of Pokhara city and its beautiful valley. A breathtaking experience as you float in the air within the backdrop of the majestic Annapurna and Manaslu Himalaya range.

Kanchenjunga Conservation Area (KCA) is Nepal’s third conservation area which is named after the third highest mountain in the world – Mount Kanchenjunga (8586 m). it is established in 1997 and covers an area of 2035 sq. km. The conservation area is part of the Sacred Himalayan Landscape. Additionally, this protected area links the two different places as it has the transboundary areas between Kanchendzonga National Park in India and Quomoloangma National Nature Preserve in Tibet.

Location

Kanchenjunga Conservation Area lies in the Taplejung district of eastern Nepal. This area touches the boundary line of Kanchendzonga National park of India at the northern side and Quomoloangma National Nature Preserve of Tibet in the southern part. Moreover, to the west, it touched the Sankhuwassabha District. The conservation area ranges from an altitude of 1200 m to 8583 m.

Climate

The climate varies depending upon its altitude. Monsoon season is the most experienced season in this region. Besides this, during the winter season, frequent snowfalls and low climatic temperatures can be experienced.

 Wildlife and Vegetation

Kanchenjunga conservation area includes more than 2000 species of the flowering plant out of which 23 species of the flowering plant are only endemic to Nepal. Furthermore, KCAP is the homeland of 82 species of insects, 5 species of fish, 6 species of amphibians,252 species of birds, and 22 species of mammals. Similarly, endangered species such as snow leopard, red panda, and vulnerable species like the clouded leopard, Himalayan black bear, Assamese macaque serow are found in this conservation area.

The local Population at the Buffer Zone

The protected areas lie in the Taplejung district. Tibeto- Burman ethnic groups such as Rai, Limbu, Tamang, Magar, Gurung, Jirel, Thakali, and Sherpa reside in this region. About 122,072 people reside in this district. Mainly, it is famous for the Sherpa communities.

Overview

Royal Chitwan national park is one of the world heritage listed reserve areas of the UNESCO world heritage site. This park covers more than 932 square km of forest area. The Royal Chitwan national park was established in 1973 in order to protect wildlife, vegetation, and many natural habitats from poachers. The park is quite peaceful and very beautiful with lush vegetation, as you will get a view of the river which runs through the park.

Visitors can make lifetime memories once they traverse their visit inside the park. You can make a visit via jeep safari and elephant ride. On your way, you will see the one-horned rhino, deer, wild cock, deer, monkeys, langur, colorful birds species, wild buffaloes, elephant, gharials, crocodiles in the river bank. Furthermore, if you are extremely lucky enough then you will get a chance to spot a tiger, leopard, or sloth bear.

It is up to you, either you opt to choose elephant safari or jeep safari. Elephant safari means some groups of people will sit on the elephant’s back and the elephant rider will take you for a ride inside the jungle. This ride makes your visit adventurous and thrilling. You will get a chance to have an elephant bath on your way as well.  Similarly, if you go for a jeep safari then, you will have to make a visit by jeep. As it has an open back with a seat-like bench and is surrounded by metal bars, to protect you from the attack of wildlife. During your visit, your jeep guide will give essential information and a description of the wildlife that appears in the way.

 Chitwan national park is a very popular tourist destination. You can get the entry permit to Chitwan national park from Sauraha in the east and Meghauli village in the west. Besides this, you can visit the museum as well. 

Note: Make sure to maintain peace once you enter the forest. As your sound may offend the creatures and they might even attack you. You have to keep your wrapper and garbage with you. You shouldn’t leave trash behind.
