Nepal is a unique place where diverse religions and cultures can be found in a single committee. You will get the chance to encounter a multitude of Nepali dining customs here. During the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, you will spend a few days in the city and most of your days in the tea house.

In Kathmandu, you’ll discover many restaurants serving a variety of foods and drinks, ranging from local to international choices. You can choose where to eat based on your budget, from affordable places to fancier restaurants.

At the tea house, you will not find many choices of food like in the city area. Also the cost of the food and drinks that you can find in the city area double sometimes triple due to difficult road conditions. Food and drinks are carried by the porters or Yaks; therefore, it is costly at a higher altitude. Even though there is no wide variety of food in the tea house, you will get the chance to taste organic, typical, traditional Nepali food. Most of the trekking agencies provide meals three times a day while trekking: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

For Breakfast: For breakfast, it will cost you around 3-7$ depending upon the types of food, food portion, and tea house altitude. The average tea house that provides breakfast includes; Breakfast Set(toast, chapati, or Tibetan, hot drinks), Tibetan Bread, Pancakes, Cereals, Paratha, French toast, vegetarian soup, eggs(variety), etc

For Lunch and Dinner: For lunch and dinner, it will cost you around 4-10$. The average tea house that provides lunch and dinner is Dal Bhat, Momo, Thentuk or Thukpa, Chowmein or Noodles, Fried Rice, Rice and Curry, Pizza, Pasta or Spaghetti, etc.
