While staying in the tent our professional chef will cook and provide the three times meals for you which will be included in the package. Inside the city, you can find traditional Newari food, local food, Continental food, Indian food, Intercontinental dishes, etc.

Eating at fancy restaurants in Kathmandu can be pricey, but you can find cheaper local food options for a more budget-friendly meal. In Kathmandu, you can get cold and hot drinks for as low as $0.5 to $3, but in tea houses, it might cost you $3 to $8 for the same beverages.

The cost of mountaineering services depends on the level of experience they have. So, the more experienced they are, the higher the cost they might charge. Likewise, porters typically handle your luggage up to the base camp, while crew members are responsible for transporting your gear up the mountain.

  • Cost of trekking Guide: US$ 30- 40 per day
  • Cost of porter: US$ 25- 30 per day
  • Cost of mountaineering/expedition Guide: 1000$ or even higher.

Transportation

Depending upon the itinerary and the transportation you choose, the cost of the transportation varies. To reach the Khumbu Region, you can either reach by Lukla flight or drive through BP highway to Salleri. The Lukla flight for a round trip will cost you around $400. The price may vary depending on the seasons and availability. If you’re looking to save money, you can opt for traveling by road, which is usually cheaper than flight.

Equipment and Gear Cost

Even though Ama Dablam is not as high as some other mountains, it’s still a big challenge. Climbing involves tricky rock and ice climbing skills. So, you’ll need all the necessary climbing equipment like an ice axe, crampons, climbing harness, helmet, backpack, sleeping bag, and more. Without the help of this gear, you can submit the expeditions. You can buy this gear and equipment inside the city easily. Also if you don’t want to buy you can have an option to get in rent as well. Moreover, the expenditure on obtaining the required gear and equipment will further raise the total expenses of the expedition.

Regular Flight Cost

Traveling to Nepal always involves booking a flight. The price of an international flight varies depending on your location and the distance from your home country to Nepal. Additionally, the cost can differ based on the class of ticket you choose for your travel within Nepal.

Visa Fee

Most foreigners can easily get an arrival visa from the Tribhuvan International Airport(TIA). Only a handful of countries do not offer on-arrival visas for Nepal. To find out if your country is one of them, you can either check online or consult with trekking agencies for assistance. The tourist visa cost depends on how long you will stay in Nepal. Before getting the tourist visa, ensure the days are enough for the expedition.

  • For the 15 Days, it will cost you – 30 USD
  • For the 30 Days, it will cost you – 50 USD
  • For the 90 Days, it will cost you – 125 USD

Summit Bonus Cost

As part of your total expedition cost for Ama Dablam, you’ll need to factor in the summit bonus cost. This is a fixed amount set by the Nepal government that climbers must pay as a summit bonus. After successfully summiting Ama Dablam, climbers are required to pay $700. For mountains in the 8,000-meter class, the summit cost is $1,000.

Insurance

Keep in mind that having travel insurance is a must before starting your Ama Dablam expedition. You won’t be able to obtain your climbing permit in Nepal unless you provide proof of insurance. Also, remember that you can’t purchase travel insurance in Nepal; it’s something you need to arrange in your home country before your trip. So, be sure to take care of your travel insurance before you set out on your journey.

When picking your travel insurance for trekking in Nepal, look for a plan that covers essential things like flight cancellations, lost luggage, getting sick suddenly, and needing hospital care. It is also smart to have an Adventure Pack included, which protects you in case of accidents or other mishaps during your trek.

Make sure your insurance is thorough, covering accidents, medical expenses, and search and rescue costs. Read through all your policy details to understand what it does and doesn’t cover. Some insurers offer extra options for activities like extreme sports or bad weather, which could be useful for your trek.

Before you decide on an insurance plan, compare different providers. Look at things like coverage limits, deductibles, the cost of premiums, and what customers say about the company’s service.

Entry Fees at the Heritage Sites

If your Ama Dablam expedition itinerary includes sightseeing days, you might need to pay the fees before entering the heritage sites. The cost of heritage varies from one to another, with each having its own unique price. Many trekking agencies typically do not include the entry fee for heritage sites in their package. Therefore, it is advisable to exchange some foreign currency for Nepali rupees before visiting these heritage sites.

Tippings

Tipping is a usual practice in Nepal, especially when you hire porters and guides for your adventure. While it’s not obligatory, it’s a way to show gratitude for their help. You can choose how much to tip your crew members based on your satisfaction with their service.

Souvenirs

Purchasing souvenirs is a great way to cherish your experiences in Nepal. You will find plenty of souvenir shops at heritage sites and cultural landmarks and along the streets of Thamel. Additionally, you can also buy souvenirs along the trekking trails. Souvenirs in Nepal can range in price from $15 to over $1000, depending on the type and quality of the items you choose.

Overall Package Cost

For the Ama Dablam expedition, you can buy a package ranging from 5500$-15000$. The price of the package varies depending upon several factors such as itinerary days, transportation you choose, seasons you travel, etc. Before finalizing your booking, it is crucial to thoroughly review what’s included and excluded in the package. Additionally, ensure that you book your package through a government-registered trekking agency like ours, High Route Adventure.
